About iRead

What is iRead?

Touching young lives. Unfolding great dreams.

iRead is a reading campaign that encourages children to develop the habit of reading and inspires them to dream BIG!

Launched in 2010, iRead has partnered with different elementary schools in Laguna. Members of the UPLB Development Communicators' Society spearhead this campaign where they visit partner schools to read stories to children and teach them how to read in the Filipino language.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began in early 2020, iRead activities were put to a halt due to health risks and restrictions. On November 2020, UPLB DevComSoc saw an opportunity to widen the reach of iRead. As such, iRead @ Home was launched for both children and parents alike with a vision of a future where every parent is a teacher and every home is a place for learning.
